Ok, so i'm in need of some insight/help with this dilemma. I bought a 2001 GT-S with a blown engine for $500, the guy wanted 1k but got him down to $500. I was originally just wanting it for exterior panels, as I have a manual 2001 GT that needs some body work/swapping. Short story long, I managed to swap out and otherwise fix the dents and panels that needed on my daily GT, which I love and i'm not looking to upgrade or replace with this GT-S. Thing is, GT-S engines are hard to come by, and they're pricey, as you all know. SO, I'm thinking of downgrading it... I've gone to the local salvage yard/s before ( I got a tranny for my GT, and I've pulled engines before) I know the GT engine is pretty commonplace, i've seen em there, along with the Intake/Exhaust manifolds. My inquiry would be, what other downgrades or parts do i need to consider to pull this off? Thank you for your time. I can provide pics as well, if needed.

This sounds like you have an exciting project on your hands cool

For a generic comparison between the GT and GTS, have a look at the last post in this thread:
