I have a 2000 GTS I had bought for $800 that needed work done to the motor and Trans. We bought it thinking it would just need the bottom end replaced and a new clutch because it would get stuck. My dad and grandad, who are mechanics, checked out the car and felt those seemed likely. We brought it home, 2 hour drive, and checked it out and seen the trans was cracked in some places and had small holes. We did get it to start up, but, for some reason, when I was checking the headlights, it tried to start the engine. I believe the people who previously had it messed up with the wiring and I was curious of what I should do and get some opinions on what may be the best option for the car.
Tl;Dr : My cars headlight switch turns the starter because because of bad wiring from previous owners.
