Hi all!
My newly acquired Celica has had problems shifting into reverse. It just takes a little bit of effort to get it to shift into that position. Today, I shifted it into reverse perhaps a *bit* too forcefully and now something about my transmission selection is knackered. My selector moves up and down, but not left and right, and it doesn't really go into neutral - it seems to be stuck in some forward gear. I can't get it into reverse, and it just doesn't seem to be shifting in general. I've removed the console and the up-down linkage appears to move fine, but the left-right linkage is moving significantly less than it should. Also, when I move the shifter down, it has a tendency to move itself back up to center.
Does anyone have any ideas?
