Hello, I have been trying to fight this issue for about a month now.
I pulled my motor and transmission as my c60 had lost third gear. We swapped a new transmission onto it and attempted to redo the timing cover gasket while we had the motor out. While doing that the timing chain jumped, so we ended up redoing the timing. We reinstalled the engine and it would crank but not start.
We then tested the fuel and the spark and it was showing that we had both. It also has 230 psi per cylinder. After a lot of google and messing around we ended up pulling the motor and transmission again. Pulled off the timing cover and it turned out that we had set the timing for a 1zz and not 2zz. (Which from what I understand is one tooth different.)
We put the motor in again tonight and it still cranks but won't fire. I hear the fuel pump, but not getting anything. Is there something that I could have missed? During this whole mess we tested the crank and cam sensors.
I am not sure where to go next. I'm thinking that I might end up buying a new motor. I don't want to throw away a good running motor but I can't seem to figure out what I am doing wrong here. I hooked up a code reader and it wasn't throwing any cel codes....
Please help.
I want to drive my Celica before winter hits.
