I bought a Toyota Celica AT200 not too long ago and I realised the previous owner has messed up the electrical wiring completely. Half of the cabled I can't seem to find and the other half doesn't seem to be plugged in.

My issue that my hazard light doesn't work if I press the button, I also have to turn the indicator at the same time. To then use the indicator I have to "unpress" the hazard switch.
Due to this I highly suspect it's the wiring causing some issues but seeing as this is my first project car I am not experienced with solving these issues. Does anyone have a suggestion for what it could be?

English isn't my first language so I apologise for poor explanations.

For safety, often in vehicles the turn signal with flash twice as fast as normal when there is a headlight burned out or unplugged. Could it be that the there is a missing or burned out corner lamp. Or your an incorrect watt bulb is used for any of your corner lamps?

You've mentioned that some of the wires may be crossed or not connected from the previous owner. You may want to run an electrical test between your fuse and the light it controls, to confirm that the proper connection is being made.

The indicators works perfectly fine. To enable the hazard light I have to press the hazard switch and then turn the indicator lever (as if indicating a turn) to turn hazard on. The hazards blinks in the normal fashion. The hazard switch is acting more like a button to toggle between indicator or hazard function. None of the bulbs should be wrong.

Also by electrical test, do I just take a multimeter and test the connections?

they should be producing the expected voltage and should be going through the fuse box -- not rerouted with custom wiring. If you find anything strange, hopefully it is obvious what needs to be fixed.
