I had an issue with the car's battery being drained, also the alarm was going off and I found the cause of it. The security system has it's own NiMH battery pack inside the siren, mounted behind the trim on the RHS of the hatch interior. By now, those cells are usually not in good shape and it was taking current from the main battery. I removed the siren and this solved the problem.
