I have two 1980 Celica Sunchaser GTs. Fairly rare, the made approximately 500 a year over 3 years. The factory authorized Sunchaser option cut a targa top over the front seats and a convertible top over the rear. Between the two is an engineered roll bar. The windshield and A pillar were reinforced as was the underbody to make up for the lost stiffness.
At any rate, I have what is believed to be the only metallic black car. It's in great original condition and is a regular driver for us.
Then there is the yellow car. Originally non metallic black it was repainted yellow by a prior owner. It's a GT 5spd car with air. It's in decent condition. Not worth restoring, not really daily drive-able as is. Seals for the targa top and rear convertible top are next to impossible to find and very expensive when you can. I originally bought it for the Weber carb but decided it was too nice to part out but not nice enough to restore.
Then I got the idea of lifting the yellow car about 3 inches, putting larger tires on it and using it on the forest service roads around my house. With the tops out it would make a great "off road" car. How would one go about lifting a 1980 Celica GT about 3 inches?
