Does anyone have a kill switch? Also how much do they cost, where can it be done at, and where is the button usually placed? Also what do these 'Engine Start' buttons do?
but you gotta admit...just the idea of having a button is pretty cool. wasnt aware you had to turn the key...hmm..makes it a little silly...turns out to be mroe work...lol
Ok forget the engine start button i was just wondering what an actual 'kill switch' does.
Kills the engine, if the kill switch is OFF the vehicle wont start, but if its ON the vehicle will start. Its basically for security purposes. Makes it harder for the thief to steal your ride.
BTW Make sure the kill switch is hidden somewhere.
there is a way to bypass the key and just run it from a few kill switches and a button if you know your sh*t about wiring, and you have a few hours to kill. I'm thinking about doing that one day but for now i'll keep the key, i think its going to knock three years off my life expectancy when i try to wire it.

All you have to do is put a switch on ur starter wire...simple as that...but i would not suggest messing with ur wiring if you don't know exactly what you are doin

That part is easy, also have to mess with the steering lock and decide if you want that on, but you just have to pick out the right wires.
My mom has a security feature she got put in. You have to have the turn signal pushed down to the left turn position for the car to even start when you turn the key.

There is some new car out that has some computer chip. It senses a chip on the keys and you can start it with the push of a button. Also the doors unlock automatically when the sensor is near the car.

hmmm for some reason i don't thing you were supposed to tell anyone that...
you turn the key all the way to where the car would normally start and then you push the button and it starts right up. it is nothing more than a switch between your key and the starter. instead of turning a key, you get to push a button. whatever floats your boat i guess
