I just got my A-pillar gauges installed, air/fuel & oil pressure. My oil pressure is at about 55 psi, untill i hit lift and then it goes down to 7psi. Does that sound a bit low to anyone else??? If anyone else has an oil pressure gauge let me know what your says at lift. rice

My car idles a 18-20psi pressure. freeway driving (3500rpms) is around 60 psi. When i hit lift, it only increases, i think around 80? 7psi sounds scary low. Do you have a digital oil p. gauge? Mine is the lunar series, which is mechanical. So i have a live oil line running to the gauge. My friend with the cobra sais you should always have 10psi to every 1000rpms. Our engines run higher than this I imagine do to compression. 7psi is NOT GOOD...

Yeah, 7 psi is ridiculously low. Sounds like something is either wrong with your engine or your gauge.

that isnt good, my cobra runs that much fuel pressure eek Seems you need an engine rebuild, or your gauges are not functioning properly. I also have a question? why do you have an oil pressure gauge anyways? Seems your car isnt in need of monitoring the oil pressure, none the less, it sounds like an uncalibrated gauge or a faulty gauge to me. best of luck getting it fixed thumbsup

I just heard from my toyota tech, what it does, is when i hit lift the oil pressure goes to readjusting the cam timing. My tech check it out and he said that it is working perfectly. thanks for all your help.

joylover24,
How hard was it to install the oil pressure gauge? I don't know where to tap it into the engine block.

THANKS,
Impala
