I haven't heard anything about it shaking when you start it, the only thing I have heard is that the lights dim at idle. I think that is just the Alt. pulley though, is that what you're installing? The gains are not big maybe like 2 hp. This would be one of the later mods I would do to my car. My 2 cents.

I thought it was called "Tru-Power Pulley"

AEM Tru- Power- pulleys increase power by reducing Our lightweight pulleys reduce rotating weight and are slightly oversized to maximize efficiency, which nets more horsepower at the wheels. We guarantee our pulleys' belt tooth profiles to match O.E. specifications, eliminating any chance of premature belt wear. Comprehensive installation instructions, replacement belts and AEM decals are included in every kit.

...

Most AEM Tru-Power- Pulley Kits are two-pulley systems. However, for vehicles with pressed-on power steering pump and/or air conditioning pulleys, AEM manufactures a single pulley system.

*IMPORTANT:
Vehicle manufacturers have thoroughly investigated the use of torsional vibration dampeners and conclude that their use significantly reduces NVH (noise, vibration and harshness). Furthermore, manufacturer and independent research shows that torsional vibration dampeners are critical to engine life where long-term use is intended. Removing the torsional vibration dampener from an engine can be highly detrimental to its long-term operation!

This only applys when you are replace the crank pulley as well. The AEM pulley kit is only the alternator so it is not a problem. Unorthadox racing makes a kit that replaces the crank pulley, the kit does give a much bigger difference in hp, about 10 hp.

It cost me like 35 bucks, and I actually read on a site before, that it increases 8hp, which is to the crank of course. So probably about 4hp to the wheels. I like it, much better throttle response.
