I have a pretty much stock 2002 Celica Gt Automatic with an Injen CAI. I wanna throw on a bottle of nitrous. I was wondering what brand, how many shots can my car handle, and what kind of nitrous. Any info. helps, thanks. I was looking at a 50 shot.

How much for NX?? What about Zex, 50 shot, wet system? I want Zex because it's cheaper in price, easier to install, and safest. Will Zex work?

zex will probably work if they have a wet system? i dont know but a lot of guys driving celicas do have the nx kit and it seems to be just right! but please if you have someone that you trust that is willing to put the zex on your car(that is if they have the wet system) then please do! then we can get some comparision:)
anyway good luck thumbsup

definetly NX... zex doesnt even have a wet system.. they are supposed to be coming out with one soon.but not yet. ive had the nx and its awesome.u feel ALL of the 35 horses on the 35 shot. installation might be more since its a wet kit and some welding will have to be done. i payed around 490 for the kit. shipped, and about 180 for installating.

I've found the Zex wet kit for our cars. It's $499.00, safest and easiest to install. My friends doing the installation. He has the Nx on his Civic. Another question I have. Do you only need the bootle warmer if you plan on using the nitrous in the winter or can you do without it if you don't plan on using it during the winter?? Also, the only gauge I really need is the one that checks the bottle, right? Do I need a purge kit or can I do without it?

i don't know too much about nitrous... what's the maximum amount of boost you could run without being detrimental to engine internals? will this zex kit require forged engine parts?

a good rule of thumb is no more than 20 hp per cylinder. so 20 hp x 4 cyl. is 80 hp... so its a good idea not to squeeze more than 75 shots...

Do keep in mind, the NX kits are rated at the wheels, NOS and Zex are rated at the flywheel. So, a 75 shot of NX is more of what a 90 to 95 of NOS would be like. 50 of NOS ~ 45 of NX... Just food for thought when thinking of engine internals.

so what if you have forced induction? can you still run the same amount of boost from nitrous?

Hope you have reinforced engine internals if you plan on running a forced induction kit and an n2o setup... It would be very easy to throw a rod or just have things fail on you on a stock block.

i see, yeah that makes sense! with all that boost u'd probably have to lower compression ratio quite a bit too...

With the Zex, the maximun is a 75 shot, but I'm going to run a 50 shot and increase it to 75 shot as I build up my engine. Can any Nitrous experts answer my questions on Nitrous?? They're posted at the beginning of this thread.

I looking into a direct port N2O setup. Does anyone have a recommendation for a good direct port kit? I've dealt with N2O a little bit but on big block Chevys with bullet proof internals. grin
