Has anyone heard about this because i havent and when i visited a garage today the mechanic told me that he has been fixing hundreds of celicas with this??? http://www.safetyalerts.com/recall/a/02/v00684.htm

eek I've heard nothing about it, and it says notifications would be made after May 2003.

Then again, I didn't even BUY mine until April, so it may have already been fixed frown

What the hell?! that sounds pretty intense, but i dont think that is true because i had never heard about it before and i really follow the Celica. But you never know, wow thats shocking news.

did you guyz get a letter in the mail informing you of this recall? i did.. my dealership looked at it.. and said mines was okay.. its not all celicas with the problem.. just some i guess... my celi is a 2002..

THIS IS TRUE...I received a letter in the mail telling me the same thing...I'll have to take mine to the dealer to check if my celi is OK...

my dad's car does that.

it overflows if you leave the pump in auto.

He doesn't want to get it fixed, because the work requires LOTS of labor, and our dealership sucks ass.

That doesnt require a lot of work...

Its a little plastic peice that gets replaced, takes all of maybe 3 hours tops.

I took my car in for it, they gave me an echo for a day. rolleyes

is this recall only with the celis in america or isthis a universal celi problem?

The dealership told my dad his entire tank needed to be removed, replaced, and some body work had to be done to fit in the new one.

The mechanic at the garage i went to said it was the jdm motors on all celicas. He said he has gotten hundreds of celicas this year who have all blown their engine dueto this problem. Im gonna go get it checked out some time soon.
