I got an auto GT... yeah I know it's very slow. I'm looking forward to get the three basic mods, intake, header, and exaust. I wonder if it's worth it because I heard that auto gts which has already 180hp and still slower than the manual GT... how is an auto GT with I/H/E compare to manual GT? confused

There isn't much you can do.

Those things will help, but an automatic just doesn't have the gearing to be a competator

yeah unfortunately i/h/e will prolly only give you 10 max to the wheels (and that's pushing it), that's if you get injen,TRD, and hotshot. i hear headers rob autos of tq. down low but don't quote me on that. honestly with i/e on my auto they only seem to kick in around 3K and over. it's still sluggish off the line compared to stick. but those mods will give you an increase in hp...you just won't benifit as much as the manual tranny guys. if you want more power than that then maybe you want to get into F/I or nitrous?? i dunno... confused

I noticed that it's only slow taking off from a complete stop... but when this baby is on a highway, it pulls pretty decent. just wondering if these mods will help me accelerate better on highway because i don't care much about the stop and go traffic... it's too dangerous anyways!!! Also I'm not looking forward to race anybody... just wanna make my car a little more exciting to drive and top end power...:D

In that case, I think I'm not going to waste my money modding it... maybe I can use that money to dress up my car instead because it's still a celica... I can always say "It's not fast, but it looks better than yours" grin ... it's sad though because accelerating on the empty highway at night is so much fun...

i don't think it's a waste modding it performance wise...it will still help your car perform better...have you ever thought of suspension mods? after springs and a front flex bar my car definatley feels diffrent. of course that's what our celis are for thumbsup

If I were you I would get an aem intake, trd exhaust, and at leat the aem pulley. a torque converter would really help but I don't know if they make one for the auto gt. Also get some suspension upgrades. If you can't get'em on the straights then kill'em in the turns. Oh, also check into ground wires, hear they give a little torque.

Thanks guys... I appreciated your helps!!! I already got suspension mods called PROGRESS COMPETITION(very nice)or something close to that... I also purchased a used AEM cold air intake from a friend of mine and I noticed a little tiny bit of pull in the low end... my next and also my last mod is going to be TRD exaust because I heard so many goods things about them... just can't resist!!!!

BTW. I think you're right Isaac, my friend's manual GTS and my other friend's RSX-S never got from point A to point B any faster than I am during the day. But I gotta admit the fact that when we go somewhere late at night and the highway is very quiet... they're gone!!! The RSX-S usually beat the GTS stock for stock... RSX top end is a beast!!!
