I have a freind who is getting the Gtech meter and at first he told me of all the great things it can do such as max hp, optimized shift points, ect. Recently i told another friend about it and was informed that it can only record up to 10 seconds and will give a max predicted hp, quarter mile time and so on. Anyone have a comment on this, how accurate they are or how they even work?

I have a G-tech competition..
It has a built in tach with shift lights.
I do not believe that the HP ratings are coimpletely correct but, they do let you know when you get a HP inprovement.
Stock it showed my GT at 108 hp With and Injen catback and AEM cold air it showed me at 125 hp Add a 75HP Zex kit and it showed me at 210 hp

thats cool. Does it record your whole run or just 10 seconds of it and predict the rest.

It will time any distance you want. If you drive a mile without slowing it will record the whole mile but, it will also give you quarter mile times.
It also has a christmas tree so you can get your reaction times as well..

I have had issues with the accuracy on gtechs. They do not compensate for squat so all of the ones I tested were optimistic. I tested them on the dragstrip against the strip's timing devices.
(edit) I forgot to say that they are pretty consistent so at least you can check for any acceleration gains provided you use the same stretch of road everytime (so that any slopes will not affect future readings).
