do you have to cut that honey comb looking like thing so the gauge can go all the way in?

To deal with the wires, either poke a hole through the bottom of the black air duct and go that route, or remove your gauge cluster to poke a hole through the top of the air duct (i didnt mind going from the bottom... but after replacing my gauge overlays in another project, I saw that it might have been quicker to have just done it through the top grin)

sorry - should have posted this above - but since you guys have already been talking about it, i will explane why and show a photo wave

...

The vent is usualy closed because either it freezes my hand or gets it too hot because of the climate control... so it has been closed - why not just put something usefull in there grin

if it freezes ur hand, that why its has flaps and rotates rofl I dont know.. Placing a meter in the AC vent just doesnt seem right to me..On the hot days here in cali, I close the two passenger sides so they blast out the two driver vents and with that now you only got one hole.. Looks nice but not practical IMO... confused

i close the furthest most passenger side and keep the two centers blowing toward me... the furthest center, also blows across the back of the video screen and cools it off on hot cali days and on long drives thumbsup

if you want more air flow, crack your drivers side window a bit, this will release some of the pressure and get the cooler air to drift past your face and out the window happywink

How does this affect the gauge i the long run though? Seems like it helps to muck it up..?

your comment doesn't make sense... please elaborate

BTW - Since all four air vents are attached at one point, when you close-off one of the vents, the other three get more power... by sticking a gauge in a vent, is the equivalent of closing that vent - it harms nothing thumbsup

these vents are a pain in the ass to put back in... i just painted mine, and they're easier to take out than to put back in.
