I have several questions regarding the stock headunit on the 02 celica GT and satellite radio. First i know the headunit doesnt support satellite radio but i know it is still possible with several options. However my question is Does the stock headunit have auxillary inputs on it??? This appears to be the best option for satellite radio because it would be wired directly into the stereo. I know you can also use a fm modulator but this tunes it to a dead radio station and i hear the quality is not that great. My other question is: Does anyone have satellite radio and how did you installit/how does it sound? Thanks alot.

I have a Kenwood sirius setup with Kenwood cd headunit. First, there was no auxilury inputs on my 2000 stock unit so I assume yours is same, only way would be to disable tape deck, but would require some prior knowledge. I installed the whole setup my self (took many hours to make it look nice) Is your celica a gt or gts, if its a gt does it have the premium sound package with a sub above passanger footspace(should be able to see).If its a gt with non premium sound you should be able to get a harness adaptor for a new headunit.I have a gts so I had to cut all the wires before they enter the factory amp, and re splice them to new harness (found guide on this site) Also, if you haven't already made a choice, I would definately recommend sirius over xm (sirius has no commercials). Plus sirius has more future potential.

also, before buying my setup, I had the external Here2anywhere kenwood unit. It was nice looking but it had to be fm modulated, and yes it sounded like crap. If you buy your stuff retail, I would recommend checking ebay for a tuner because I got mine brand new still in box for $35 and they cost 150+ at best buy/circuit city.

One more thing, if you have satallite radio, you will not be able to stand shitty regular radio ever again. and I even live in chicago which has the best radio selection in country.
