whats up guys!? First i was wondering what the diameter of the stock exhaust piping is. probably 2" or what? I dunno. Second, All mufflers whether name brand or "universal" have to be fit to your car anyways so arnt they all UNIVERSAL technically? Just wondering bc i found a universal that is basically like the Vielside Teardrop exhaust system. do you think it would make a difference and should i give it a try bc it is on the way cheaper side compared to the name brand. Thanks!

Thanks! anything that is universal will not give you any extra power. universal means that it can be modified to work with your car or your neighbors civic. mufflers are of no use other than the sound that they produce. they will not give you any kind of gain (other than a loudness gain, if that counts ) post the link to the exhaust muffler thing that you found. i can tell you if it is worth it or not.

i'm really curious to how the invidia and rs-r exhuast systems perform... wouldn't it give you max gains since it's not an axle back system?

im sorry but i have to disagree completely. mufflers have a purpose other than the sound they produce. they give modest hp gains. although not as much as any F/I, there are still gains. and having a custom exhaust setup will give you gains provided the universal muffler/piping is not as restricting as stock. which it most likely isn't. look at it like this. all apexi n1's are the same muffler with different piping for each car. if you get a universal n1 and have custom piping made it'll be almost the same thing. gains could be more, or less, but regardless, the gains are still there.

the dragger gt is a good muffler if you want to do a custom exhaust set up!(used it a couple times on the older celicas and a probe gt,good gains and sound real nice).the intake is almost like the aem,(not filter though)but intakes are complicated for the celicas,as a change in the piping length, size, bends, dictates whether you lose or gain performance, and where in the rpm band low, middle or high.if you decide to get the intake, change the filter to a k&n hi flow one.
