Does anyone have the Alpine CDA-7995 head unit? Whats up with it needing an amp? Is it something you need or just recommended?

It depends on what your going to be using. Are you going to using stock speakers still?

Im not 100% positive but if you have a gts you can wire the headunit to the stock amp with no problems, but if there is no amp in the car currently then you're going to need a small 4 channel, no more than 40 watts rms per channel or else your speakers won't last.

Anyone know for sure if i can do this? Also how hard would it be to hook other things up to the head unit later like subs?

when you hook up subs later your not going to be using the headunit for anything but a turn on signal and the rca pre-outs so you dont need to worry about add on's yet...
