I'm looking at component speakers, and i need some info if anyone has these speakers and know how they sound. The first is the alpine type R components. I have two alpine type r 12's in the back and they sound really good, so i was going to get all alpine in my car, because the subs sound great, but i never heard the alpine components before, and the other day i heard these speakers by infinity, REF6000CS 6-1/2" Two-way component system. They had a nice bass sound and the tweeters were very nice sounding too, but which would be better, the infinity's or the alpines? I'm not sure how loud i can push the infinity's, i know you can push the alpines a good amount though, enough for my listening pleasure, and help would be appreciated. Also just saw the infinity Kappa Perfect6.1 component system, that better then the other ones?

I havent heard many good things about the type-r set yet. Even CA&E gave them a ok review. LMK how much your looking to spend and I'll help you out.

Probably 200 a set, i just get them off ebay that way, and they are usually cheaper, that and some online stores sell them for cheap, let me know what would be good, i like a lot of fullness in my sound, so i need some good bass and mids out of these speakers, and i don't want my tweeters to get distorted when i turn the volume past 12... (head unit goes up to 35)

i'd say you would NEED to run an external amp to it (its made for it), and infinity is a really great brand as well as alpine, and the r components are sweet as hell!

I was trying not to use the amp, but if i need to, i'll get two two channel amps from alpine, but the head unit puts out 50 a channel, and i don't think i'll need too much more than that.

AHHHH! NO! alpines new amps are not worth the money, if you want great midbass then on ebay search for Orion P6.2 or 5.2 whatever fits. They have the best midbass of any set out there. But the mid is huge so unless your going to make spacer rings forget about it. The mid has a 3inch plus mounting depth and is huge so make sure you can fit it. Infinity's are alright but they have average midbass without a good low end extension. Also I've heard that the teets can be very muddy and distorted during peaks.

hmm...i also havent heard too many good things about alpine as of late. i mean not saying they are bad or anything, just not that great. I just ordered in some U-Dimension amps myself from Japan coz apparently they are the best amps to go with the Focal speakers and subs i'll be getting. Definitely Orion have very nice amps and some ppl have told me that Eclipse make decent amps altho some say they dont...

I think Rockford is still ok, their price has been going up while the quality is going down each year. But still you can't beat some of their amps from mid-early 90s, total kick ass stuff...
