Well, after a month of waiting I finally got my 18x8 TSW Sting's wrapped in Yokohama Parada Spec-2's. I think they look pretty frickin slick without even a body kit or lowering springs. Let me know what you think celica community...I already have eibach sportlines on the way to lower this 4x4:)

Let me know what you think and what body kit would compliment them the best. I can't decide from veilside, R2 Widebody, or Kaminari...? Clearance isn't an issue since I live in San Diego.

Rims look great, but i would get it dropped before you get a body kit, just my opinion, and with silver, kaminari and invader are two good ktis to go with it off the top of my head.

Thanks for all the approval everyone. The guys at discount tire were really impressed with the way the package came out. I am really liking the way the R2 kit looks with brs fender flairs either bolted on or molded. I can also put a carbon fiber wind splitter on the front of that to protect and look tight at the same time. I think it would look pretty unique as well. The safest bet would be the kaminari or the veilside...those are great kits...just not as eye catching to me anymore.

word bro...silver is just a pimp color and the drop is coming...by the way street, I really like your ride now without the dragon...the dragon was cool but just too much with all your new mods...do you still have those silver headlight covers on? I love bats overlays but i liked your ride better without those because of the flowage. Peace!

Ya, I coudn't be happier with my choice. Ever since I saw these rims on Jessie's celica over at nc.org I fell in love with them. Not too hard to clean either thumbsup You are lucky you got yours so easily...my butt had to wait a month thumbsdown

Ya, they are 215/35/18's or 215/40/18's...i can't remember the middle figure off hand, but I would guess the former because the sidewall is so tiny.

I was able to to get out the door for $1617. This included the rims, tires, lugs, key for lugs, hub centric rings, and certificate guarantees for all 4 tires. They also installed it all for free and gave me 2 free 16 inch tires while I was waiting for my new rims to arrive since I had 2 bald ones at the time of order. Besides the wait...it was awesome service and they hooked me up. thumbsup

215/35/18's or 215/40/18's . . .

let me know if the prada spec's are 215/35/18 .. . cause i have the Kumo's Ecsta 712's that are 215/40/18.. . and if i can get a 35 tire to fit the rim that would be bangin, im not sure if its the x8 of the rim or the tire size. I hope that it is the tire, cuase you will find out when you drop ur car, then when you drive and go into divits on the highway, when the back sags down it will rub the inner wheel well plastic. .. . . let me know. . please. .

Man i so wish i went with 8" wide rims. My buddy (Joe) on this site is running 245/40/17's on his celi and it looks sick!!!! Not sure if you could run 245 with the 18's but nice choice.

I think i would drop the car first before thinking about the body KIT!!!!

Love the wheels though.

*** Should of read your full post instead of looking at the pics first. I see you ordered the lowering spring*****

Ya, I paid $200 a rim and $150 tire...I could have got the kumhos and it would have saved me like $200, but i just wanted to splurge a little for my first time grin. That and I got tire certificates for free(lifetime guarantee) and I don't have a torque wrench lying around to do a proper install myself. I also got 2 free 16" tires out of it and free is my favorite price. tasty

My tire size is 215/35/zr18x8. I will let you know if I experience any rubbing when I lower it with Eibach Sportlines. I know a guy over at nc.org had 225/35/18 and he never mentioned any problems with rubbing while lowered? eek

And thanks for the approval cookie monster, Angelica, celicaprincess, and Jamey. I see that all your rides are moving along as well thumbsup. My mods have come slow due to almost having this beast paid off now...i hate debt!

225/35/18 is supposed to bbe the perfect tire size for 18's on our car for a correct speedo reading. I'm going 215/35/18 for the look, they only throw the speedo off 1%.

Ya, I'm not real concerned about the speedo and I really love the grip I have witness so far. I may have considered the 225's for the extra 10mm if I did auto cross, but I just occasionally street race when challenged and won't be going to the track till I get my 2002 rev limiter taken care of angry and trd exhaust tasty. I still need to paint the inside of my headlights. What color black did you use? And how many coats of that and sealer? Any personal tips? wave I would really like it to come out like this pic:

[Linked Image]

I would love to do something like this celica, but for a cleaner look without the hoodspoilers and trd fenderflairs. thumbsup

Rustoleum gloss black. 3 light coats. My only problem with the mod is, that the outer cover will have a "rainbow" looking haze. It doesn't show up well in photos, but it's usually there. I'm not going to paint my new set.

I always like 5 spokes...these are a little thicker than I would ever really want on my celica...but I have never really seen them on any car. It's hard to say, but I just like thinner spokes so you can see the calipers and what not...not bad though.

[Linked Image from washtire.powerfulhosting.com]

Then again, these 17" rims look pretty slick and they are like the tsw's a little...so who knows?

Man those rims are dope as hell, yeah I agree with the other Kaminari would look sweet on your Celica especially with those nice rims, Kaminari always looks good on a silver Celica, the best I think. Good luck and be sure to post pics as soon as you drop the car!! thumbsup thumbsup
