I fixed it, here are the pics!

Just remove the battery (don't loose the parts, I had to crawl under the car a couple times LOL) and grease the spots up!

careful for overspray. I was spraying and knocked the pipet off the can, and got grease on a couple hoses. It wipes off

Still have the problem.

I'm going to have to do this again tomorrow, I think the problem might be the shift linkage inside the car angry

It looks different on the GT.

Just open the engine bay and look by the battery. You can get to it without taking the battery out, but if you take it out, it makes it 100x easier

I did this instead of going to the dealer, spent about $4 on the grease, and my shifting is smoother, squeak is gone, and the actual shifter feels less knotchy.

If you have a good dealer, be my guest. I don't, and if I brought it in, they would have broken something, or tried to charge me $500 for warranty work (for the broken catalyst converter)

Mine has a tiny sqeak from first-second, or vise-versa. The car is only five months old and I barely can hear it but maybe I'll have it checked out too...

If helps if you spray a little on your finger and use it to rub it into the links and washers.

nice tip!

I used this technique to get the area behind where I was working since I couldn't get the spray nozzle back there

Hey Jameson,

I had the same problem a long time agao. And this fixed mine. Check behind your CAI. There's a large gold mechanism that moves with the shifter. Spray ALL of its hinges with white lithium grease spray (NOT WD-40 or any other silicone based lubricant) and the noise will go away, plus your shifter will feel smoother.

Sorry if that is what your talking about, but the pics will not load so i don't know if that is what your spaying or not!!!!

That's what I'm talking about.

I don't have a CAI, my dealer would NEVER fix anything if I did that. I got grief for having an aftermarket stereo rolleyes
