I've been doing some thinking about the gts engine (2zz) do any of you guy think that in our celica's we could fit a supra engine into it. cause i think the only thing the gts does not have is a good and hard engine. or has anyone know of anyone doing an engine swap in a 2000 celica

you'd have to increase the size of the engine bay...
but, anything is possible with money!

The supra engine is a straight six and is used only in rear wheel drive cars. The only swap I have actually seen done is the 3sgte from the all trac turbo celica. Just an opinion, but you would probably gain just as much power and save money just building up the internals of your engine and adding a turbo or supercharger.

there was that dude on NC.org that did the 3sgte transplant and pulled 549hp or something @ 29psi. There was a thread about this a while ago as well. might be worth your time. hope this helps!

are you guys crazy!!! WHY would you want to put a motor in from a completly diff. car? I 've seen civics w/ integra motors, mustangs with 460ci bronco motors, and they all run like shit! just build the motor up or buy a new car, it will be a lot more reliable! you'll regret swaping em'

First off 2jz would not fit. The 3sgte is looking to be the way, but for even more displacement one of those v6 corrola engines would be sweet, espially since you can get a TRD supercharger for em. Just gotta get inventive with the space in the engine bay.

i've been looking at the 90-93 GT4 3S-TURBO MOTOR,but it's all wheel drive. so i was thinking that if i can find the hole car at a junk yard than i could just do the swap of every thing than i would have a 225hp AWD 2000 celica but the only problem i see my self haveing is the wiring, and i cant find an up graded turbo for this motor.how does this set sound?

Just keep it FWD, it would take too much work for a AWD convertion.

Go to NC.org, Forced Induction Forum and look up the post about the 3G swap, I think it's on the second page. The only "Celi" to do a supra swap is the Chris Rado Drag Celica. The motor actually pushes into the passenger seat.

You all are forgetting about one tiny thing called weight distribution. Do you know that a heavier engine will DESTROY the balance of your car. Go to the Honda forums and see if the HB's with H22 swaps can turn for shit!!

2JZ-GTE is an inline 6 engine and rear wheel drive, compare your VVT-i inline 4 to that engine...

This is a very hypothetical question. How hard would it be to find a gutted Supra? Why not just buy the whole damn thing?

buy a 3rd gen 3sgte(more hp, higher reving capability)with a mr2 rear clip.you can use the tranny from the mr2. (some farication needs to be done with the mounts and intake)and for those who are concerned about "lift" in the 2zzge its no comparison to the 3sgte's back breaking torque!even with a turbo kit, torque on the 2zzge doesnt go much over 185lb foot but on the 3sgte its over 225(depending on which gen) i say go with the 2nd or 3rd gen 3sgte and mr2 tranny(celica transmissions for the 5sfe motor can work but the clutch has to be special ordered since the disc is bigger for the 3sgte as opposed to the 5sfe)

what we used to do was disconect the shaft on the gt4 tranny and use it! but it will be vey difficult to use the gt4 tranny in the 7th gen celica(if you ever see one you'll know what i'm talking about!huge! the rear wheel shaft has a big housing that wraps around the back of the 3s and sticks out the back and it will not clear a lot of stuff on the 7th gen celica.2zzge tranny might work if the spline shaft is long enough, get machine shop to do a tranny plate.but the tranny would have to be babied(the 3sgte would make quick work of that tranny!)

Go to the Honda forums and see if the HB's with H22 swaps can turn for shit!! When you do a motor swap that big...it's usually for the straight line If you want to turn and handle well, you redo the suspension, not motor

Go all motor!!
