Hey guys

when buying a carbon fiber hood do you have to necessary need to install hood pins (i know it's recommended) but i really don't want to drill holes underneath my hood inorder to lock the hood pins.

thanks

If it's for show, don't worry about it. If you're driving the car, especially at highway speeds, then YES, you pretty much have to have them.

Would you want to drive 50mph knowing that your hood could come flying off any second. It will crack your windshield, and HOPEfully just fly off and damage your roof really bad and HOPEFULLY not wreck or the hood hit anyone else. Or scenario B, the hood flies up, cracks the windshield, but stays connected somehow, now you can't see where you are driving and BAM...CRASH!!!

Play it safe.

thats exactly what happened to a friend of mine back home in miami, we were driving around in his prelude, just got his carbon fiber hood, and we were hitting around 120, on the turnpike at night, i forgot why, but yeah, the hood just flew up and hit the windshield, cracked it and then just stayed there and we coudlnt see for shit, he braked so that he wouldnt hit anyone, but he got scared and just slammed his brakes rather then slowing down, and going 120 and slammin ur brakes aint the smartest thing to do, well, he lost control, hit another car and then hit the turnpike wall, totally destroyed his car, oh well, so yeah, get the pins, added protection..
