Ok, I'm curious. I live in a snowy climate and have a 2003 gts w/street tires (16" opt). I want some all seasons-anyone ever use any in snow?

Also I'm shopping for aftermarket wheels but most are 7-7.5" instead of our stock 6.5". I don't want the silly wheels-sticking-out-from-the-body look, nor do I want to hit a speedbump and send my tire into my fender. What are teh acceptable maximum rim widths?

I'm curios on snow tires too. I have 15" stock wheels that i'm ready to use for snow. After the last few snow storms with my Pirelli's and 17" it needs to be changed. I don't feel like getting stuck again!

Nokian WR (all seasons but with the snow emblem, mountain with snow)

Very good tires. Good grip in rain, snow, dry, ... (for an all season tire that is)

I use them in the winter on stock gts rims.

I bought an extra set of rims for winter (same as stock)
I Like these for snowy winters! only 30K miles on these and plenty left. Great handling and exellent for 4in snow.

Went with hte 17" Continental ContiExtremeContact on American Eagel MSR 103 Rims. Never found anything I liked for ASSN in 16". These seem good in what little snow I've driven in, good in the rain. My 15k mile summer Yokohama A680's scared me i the wet. Only think not the best on the Conti's are a soft low-speed sidewall on turn-in.

I was gonna get snow tires for my gts wheels but didnt want to spend that much. So i just got A set of Pirelli All Seasons from tirerack for like $390. So far there really good in the snow. id recommend them. There like $90 a tire for the gts 16's.

Nitto Neo-gen's are supposed to be all season tires, and i've heard good things about thier performance compared to stock yoko's. But they may be pricier than others

Well I gues we have snow now, about 6" and 4 inches two seperate days. First day the streets & such were only "rutted" from traffic, no real plowing. The car handled well, for a light machine. It never slipped or gave real problems driving. Only if I changed lanes (climbing "snowbanks" between ruts) or made a turn in deep stuff did I have any yaw. Regardless the car was responsive and responded to steering quickly. It also braked the best of any non-abs car I've driven in the snow. Takeoffs were ok, used the tiptronics in 2nd to start out and kept the rpm down.

I have Cooper lifeliners size 195/60/15 that fit stock size wheels, and i have had no problems with them, and my car does better in the snow than most of the SUV's around here (only because I don't have 4wd to take for granted, so i actually have to drive carefully)

Nokians are probably your best bet. I have never heard anything bad about those tires in the snow and I did a massive amount of research for snow tires. Those were always in high regard. They are not all season just for snow and an occasional dry road. I just wish I new where to get them cheap. I went with Semperit Sport grip with the snow emblem on the side also. It's a compromise between All-season and snow shoes. They are winter tires only. I can't complain for the traction to price $260 all four 205 55 15". I would have got 195 60 or 65 if my car wasn't lowered. What a difference over the crappy all season tires from Toyota. I wish I had a digital camera to show the tread, but my girlfriends been holding out on me (just with the camera). It's true you will drive like an SUV or truck that has all-seson tires, they're that good, I mean snow tires. When the road is clean of snow they get very lose though, very squirmey. One of the best investments on my ride to date.

Where the hell did he come from? I can tell you that in the last couple of snows here in NJ I never even was close to getting stuck or spinning with my new winter tires. I welcomed it and had fun unlike the other years.
