A supercharger is belt driven so you have boost throughout the rpm range while a turbocharger is driven off the exhaust so it doesn't "spool up" (produce boost) until a higher rpm (the rpm depends on turbo size, system flow, etc.). Which is best depends on what you personally want for your car. Do a search - there is almost unlimited debate on which is better and why. Hope this helps. RAW
With turbos you have endless options and you can make horsepower numbers that are unheard of. With superchargers there aren't many upgrades and you of course can't buy things like, turbo timers, wastegates, and blowoff valves. I'll take suck, squish, bang, blow anyday over the toy car whine of a supercharger

i know this dude with a supra who wants to put a supercharger and a turbo in his car. That way he figures he can get the best of both worlds ie. the supercharger to run throughout the rpm range until the turbo kicks in. i dunnoe if he's just talking out of his a$$ but it sounds logical.

i'd stick with turbo if i had the supra...
is putting a supercharger and turbo together even possible?
Yes, but in my opinion it's a waste of money and just for show. It is my understanding that in drag applications, if you have a big ass hard to spool turbo, you can use a nitrous oxide kit to get it spooled up. In that guy's case, he used a s/c instead of nitrous oxide.

TURBO CHARGER AND SUPER CHARGER,BOTH FORCED INDUCTION,SC GETS ITS BOOST FROM BELT DRIVEN FROM ENGINE TCHARGER FROM EXHAUST GAS.SCHARGER BETTER DRIVABILTY,NOT MUCH FOR UPGRADES.T CHARGER, LITTLE LESS DRIVABILITY BUT VERY EFFICIENT,GOOD GAINS.YOU CAN USE NITRO TO SPOOL TURBO IF YOU HAVE A LOT OF LAG.PS: TURBO AND SUPERCHARGER IS POSSIBLE FRIEND OF MINE HAD A LEVIN(JDM COROLLA) WITH A 1600 4AGZE ROOTS TYPE CHARGER,WE GOT A TURBO MANIFOLD AND FED IT WITH A T3 TURBO! MOTOR NEEDS TO BE BUILT! TOP AND BOTTOM WITH PROVISION FOR A LOT MORE FUEL(WE RAN 72LB INJECTORS)(DONT WANT TO GET IN TO THAT MUCH DETAILS,ITS ALOT MORE THAN BIG INJECTORS)
HYBRID:resulting from the combination of two or more mechanically dissimilar origins! "...... code":every man is a shadow, let him be treated as such, until proven otherwise by a show of character or code!
