O.k...I thought I saw this once. A cold air intake made out of 2" pvc. Way cheap and easy to do..they used some 90 degree elbows and such. What do you guys think??

Wahts so insane about it?? Its under the hood, the exact same thing only it doesnt come with an AEM sticker!! lol. Seriously. Same thing. Maybe even better depending on the diameter of the pvc and the way you route it!! Fo-shizal. rofl rofl

Pvc is usually about 1/4 or 1/8" thick...I think it would work good. You could actually rt to where it needs to be to get the most cold air. Yeah, you could paint it to match your underhood acc. I think its a dope idea myself!!! rice rice

You could use 45 degree bends instead, and paint it with heat resistance paint!!!!!!! Fo real.

if you're that hard up for an intake get one of the cheapo one's on ebay. usually on 50 bucks or so and i'm sure they would be WAY better than PVC

I already have an intake, it was just something I saw. I just wondered what you guys thought. Its not even the price thats the issue, its the fact that you could route this one wherever it got the best airflow!!! spineyes

rofl Hey I remember in Dec 1994 (I was 16) when I bought my POS Fiero for $2k, I used a piece of pipe from a muffler shop, a dryer house and dryer hose clamps to custom make a what is commonly refered to as a CAI, there was a time when tuning parts for sub-compact (import/domestic) cars were zilch, My friends and I would go online to the fledgling internet to see who was using what from local hardware store for parts hehehehehe...I am sure some of the 25+ crowd knows what I am sayin, but PVC, never heard it, but then again PVC dryer hose worked fine idunnolaughsilly

SEE!!!!! It could work. Not saying be cheap, but be smart! You could route it any place you wanted..i.e. in front of the radiator in my case cause I gotta blitz bodykit. LOTS of cool air!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! spineyes

the only good reason to possibly use pvc,is that it conducts less heat than the aluminum.even the cai on ebay would be cheaper than buyin all those elbows and pipe i think!you would be losing performance though, to much restrictions in the pipe(the lip,and bends)mess with the flow.
