quick update on my kit: the car sat around at the shop for two months but they are getting it done nicely. the sideskirts have been cut and made wider. the molds for the front are being made as we speak. in two weeks, its off to get painted. it should be done end of the month if everythign goes to plan. this guy knows what he's doing, the custom cars he works on start at around $180k...that says enough. i got a really great deal, so ive got money around to save up for the engine work i plan to have done. ill post pictures up when he gives them to me. why would i be jealous of apr? a-fiberglass front fenders ( i dont like sacrificing structural integrity) and b-looks kind of funny but points for effort.
oh yeah, i forgot to mention im getting a carbon fiber hood from veilside and im getting ride of the antenna completely. i just got my competition suspension in the mail which i have to get on. im having the lip cut off of the fender well so i can get those wider taller rims to look right. by the way, the kit isnt getting produced so dont save your pennies. the work isnt rushed at all, the mold for the front fenders has already been redone a couple of times with the same treatment going for the back. im not stupid, im not spending my own money on a half assed job.
right now, its still coming out of the stock location. im gonna make it come out the sides when i get it put on and id get the hole in the rear bumper filled in. im also talking to a guy that might be building me stainless steal plates that would protect my body kit from damage when i drop my car. sti engine?! im planning on getting a custom engine and transmission next year with a Turbo setup.
ive thought about it. the swap would be really nice, but lift has kind of grown on me. i like what they did with the mirror in that picture. im probably going to end up having him do some work on my mirrors as well. im basing my widebody off of the veilside ff-gt body kit so it should have a different look to it then normal widebodys.
dont worry about the go, ive got over 10 grand set aside for custom engine work.
Money Talks Bullshit Walks.. not buying any of it.. you got 10 grand aside for engine mod's ? why didn;t you get a 350z or a Skyline.. for that kinda money you would have gotten a much better car (on Performance) with much less work.. I'm not buying anything you see.. show me wrong..
i just went up to the shop today and they have the prototype sideskirts finished and one of the molds is almost done. my guy is working on some renderings on his computer which he isnt done with yet so we're still hammering out what we are going to do. the 350z and skyline are pretty much a waste of money. for the price of the 350z im going to have a faster, better looking, and fully customized car to my liking that has no peers.
I used to have that website where this japanese guy builds theat celica plastic model... I'll try to locate it ... but... what's the point of making that body kit??? I mean I do like it... but it's a toy car... oh wellz... I love that model anywayz... good luck.
sounds like it will look killer if you are for real.
but quite a waste of money, and why would you fall so much in love with vvtl-i its nice an all but dude if you want real power then 7th gen celica isn't the place to find it $10,000 still won't put you near 400hp, and it sounds like your car will become pretty heavy
