Celica Forums General Discussion Exterior Squeaking Noise When I Steer Left

Hey guys...I have an annoying problem. I just got my 2K Celica and when I steer left between 1mph to about 5mph I hear a high pitch squeaking noise. It doesn't happen when I steer right, nor does the car swerve in either direction when I'm driving. It sounds like it's coming from the inside. Anyone else have/had this problem? Any input would be great! Thanks!

Where exactly is the noise coming from like the steering column or engine? Is the wheel hard to turn? Did you check your fluid nothing leaking I hope? A humming sound when you lock your wheel left or right is normal because the hydraulic pressure builds and makes noises. Can't know for sure maybe someone else

I had this exact same problem, except the noise sounded more like a creaking noise (think old attic door), rather than a squeaking noise. I took it to the dealer and they said I had a loose bolt, which they tightened and lubed. Problem fixed [for free, under warranty].

Don't wait, take it in to get fixed!
