I love the sound you get with a CAI! I have heard there isn't much HP, but the sound is enough for me

Tough to gage HP increases without seeing company dyno charts, but AEM should fetch up to 5HP. I'd say its worth it from an engine dress up and an engine performance point of view. Don't look at it as a small gain, just imagine the gain added to a bunch of other mods.

if you get a cai get aem for the low end...where the celica lacks...the injen is more useful in the higher end

He means that when your car is running at the low rpms (0-about 5000) that the AEM will give you better gains (more pickup). When your car is hitting the higher rpms (5000-8000) the Injen will give you better gains. correct thanks!

I know this question has been raised a ton of times before. But never an answer (I've searched). What is the difference between an AEM/INJEN and a generic EBAY intake? Also is there any thing you can do with the CAI to prevent Hydrolock. (Answered my self) Thanks

the difference between the aem and the cai on ebay,is the fitment, filter, pipe length/bend,and pipe diameter.it looks like the aem,but it is different, the bends are not identical,it is longer, the pipe has the same external diameter, but the inner diameter is bigger on the aem,the welds on the aem is much better(they dont come through the pipe on the inside as much as the one(that i compared)on ebay.it can fit,but its more work to get it lined up.and the filter is not as good as the aem filter.the only thing that is better on the ebay version than the original aem,is the hose that is supplied.the aem came with regular rubber hose while the generic ebay version came with a good/thick quality silicone hose!the best way not to get hydroloc is to not drive in deep puddles of water higher than the bottom of the door. and get one of those bypass valves, which i think wouldnt do to good cause of the distance the filter is from the throttle body and the fact the height difference is not that big enough to cause the valve to open.at hi rpm the water would be flowing to fast for the valve to open and stop it.
HYBRID:resulting from the combination of two or more mechanically dissimilar origins! "...... code":every man is a shadow, let him be treated as such, until proven otherwise by a show of character or code!

an injen or aem intake will give you about 1-4 extra horses. you will probably lose some minor low-end torque, but will more than make up for it in the higher rpms. company dynos are uselful, but they almost all of the time retune their ecu's for the new part..which gives sort of a false impression because that is the maximum # or horses/torque you can achieve. most tuners just bolt cai's on (without retuning the ecu), so these quoted power gains are not actually realized. a better way to judge cai's is through a magazine (let them pay for the dyno). turbo and high tech magazine awhile back chose to use the celica as a project car. with a veilside titanium tear drop system the INJEN cai registered an increase of 3.9 horses. (without the exhaust it remains to be seen if this figure would be even less). you can view the article HERE [ turbomagazine.com] and you will find the info about the injen cai on paragaphs 11 and 12.
