Celica Forums General Discussion Exterior Self made Grounding kit ?

Hi to all!
I have a question about Grounding kit.
I know that you can buy one,but it can cost you up to $40-60.
Do you think it is posble to make it your self??
I mean go to "Home Dpt" and buy wires...
If answer is yes:-What kind of wires do i need ?(Size)
-How many wires do i need?
-How(Were) to install it?
-How much money would i save by doing it my self??

I don't know how many you need, but you could probably buy about 10 feet (you might screw up) and about 30 connectors in case you screw up.

I would not use #4 wire from a hardware store. I would go to a starter/alternater or welding supply shop and get some #4 welding whip. Electrons would like to travel on the outside of the wire, sure some go down the middle, but that is resistence. This process is called- edge effect- welding whip has bucu small strands, even more than speaker wire, and can flow an amazing amount of current with very low resistence.

For quality supplies for one set (not buying in bulk) you will probably end up spending close to $40 anyway. The kits use 4g stranded copper wire (not solid) and gold plated connectors.
