If I were to get a Truck it would Definitly be a Ford and I love the new F150 and all, but I prefer an F350 Superduty extended cab (and I have always been a "stang" fan , I prefer the older style ...)
Some of the ugliest things took the longest time to make And some of the easiest habits are the hardest one's to break!!!
dumb rollovers...but if there was a wreck between a celica and an f-150, i hope i'm in the f-150. can't beat ride height.
ok...still I"d rather have a ferrari than a Ford, even if the ford is bigger, I care 0 about ride heigth like that..
wait, what? i mean yes i think anyone would take a ferrari over a ford, but where did ferrari come from? f-150's here, not f50's.
i waws saying how the ride height in a truck is more than that of a car (obviously) so the impact zones in a car are more likely to cause harm than in a vehicle that has a higher ride height.
i think you need to take a look at the pics of the Ford's crash tests compared to other trucks. I would rather be in a car than that piece. Anyway, idk about the new crash tests on the new F150.
that new mustang is the ugliest thing i seen me i think ill stick to my Celica
haha, ditto. i'm not digging the retro styling, but many other people like it. i have a friend who sells fords and he can't wait to get them in, he thinks there gonna sell like crazy. they also get horsepower boosts, so...
personally, i think japanese trucks are actually better quality than american ones. ive seen this stated in reviews in magazines also. most people just have stereotyped them and are simply going off the bias that america knows how to make trucks.

the most important factors for most full-size truck buyers are torque, power, and reliability. and in these sectors, american trucks are hands down the best. the nissan titan is a good truck, but it is too new to be termed "reliable" you have to give it time. the tundra is also a nice truck, but it trails is both torque and power when compared to chevy, ford, and dodge.
which truck has the best gas miledge? im guessin the toyotas
its just about even. the following is a list of EPA city/highway mileage on BASE models of these trucks.
for full-size pickups: ford f-150: 15/19 dodge ram 1500: 16/21 (the best..by a hair) nissan titan: 14/19 (the worst..by a little more than a hair) toyota tundra: 16/20 chevy silverado: 16/20
for compact pickups: ford ranger: 24/29 (by far the best) toyota tacoma: 22/27 chevy s10: 22/28 nissan frontier: 22/25 (the worst..a little more than a hair) dodge dakota: 16/20
all epa estimates are courtesy cars.com [cars.com] except for the f-150 (courtesy ford.com...cars.com did not have the information available) and the nissan titan (courtesy newcartestdrive.com [newcartestdrive.com] , again because cars.com did not have the information available)

I get like 13 maybe 14 in my silverado ...it sucks
not a fan of the silverado anyway, but age, wear, and frequency of oil changes will affect it. these are for brand new trucks and the ratings are what the government says you should get in them. the EPA is non-opinionated.
mi dos (anyway). yeah i wouldnt mind having one at all. even though the mileage is the second worst out of that list (although not by much) it is the biggest and has the most sturdy frame. so weight does play a factor..but you get more.
^^mi dos isn't a sentence in spanish. Try tambien.
Japanese are by far much better built cars/trucks/suv's than American built. People aren't so concerned with the power of the truck...I think they are more focused on the price and what they are going to get out of the truck for that price. you don't know what you are talking about sometimes.

1."mi dos" is something my friends and i joke about "mi (me) dos (two) = me too. its just a joke and i wasnt trying to be serious.
2. if people don't care about power, then why are american and japanese truck commercials advertise hardly anything but power/torque. please don't tell me you've heard phrases like "most available horsepower, most torque in class, 5.8 L v8, diesel engine (diesel is great for torque). its in EVERY truck commerical. f-150, nissan titan, toyota tundra..so on and so forth. power IS king. also, power helps you get what you pay for the truck.
3. furthermore the prices for these trucks are competetive. if they werent, they wouldnt exist, right? right.
they advertise power becaues that lures the people into the dealership, doesn't mean they want to buy it. The only reason American trucks sell more is because the market is made predominately of American trucks.
and yes, I don't know what I am talking about sometimes, so then I don't reply. Or I make a mistake.
also when people buy a truck they are looking for reliability, correct? while the toyota brand is virtually a lock in terms of reliability, so are ford trucks (can't say the same about ford cars). theres a reason the ford f-150 is the #1 best selling truck 25+ years running (thats an extremely long, unbroken streak) just as theres a reason the ford ranger is the #1 compact pickup.
and can we say bang for the buck? if you're so big on price then you can't beat the cost of a ranger. (also key: reliability--you don't have to bring it to the shop so you get to keep your $$)
what you get out of it? you tell me. yeah, the japanese trucks ride. duh, the all do. you can load a japanese truck down with a christmas tree. duh, the all do. you can make a tacoma go fast. really? yeah..you can make any truck fast. what you get out of one you can get out of the other.
the truck market is competetive, obviously. and in all of this competitiveness..the fords just so happen to rule. most sales, most reliablity, most power, most bang for the buck. my guess is thats no coincidence.
so i'm interested in buying a truck. i am not interested in power or torque. but when i see a commercial that says "most torque, most horsepower" i say "wow"--(just a natural reaction of course) and i go see the dealership.
but the commercial had no effect on me whatsoever.
now if you like japanese trucks over domestics..thats great. really. thats you're opinion and thats fine. but the reality is that ford is the best selling truck brand in the world. (i.e. that means more people like them)
and everyone makes mistakes and doesnt know what they are talking about sometimes.
but i tell you what: find out how many posts i have had that i didnt know what i was talking about and we'll see how many that is, k? if you could find any. (haha something besides me calling jess sara instead.
Yeah the new ('05) lightnings have almost like a never ending nitrous system...sorta. What it is is there is an tank that holds air, and it is kept really cold by the truck's A/C system. When you push the pedal completely, it dumps this cold air into the supercharger and gives the truck about 40-50hp for a little bit. It refills after about 2 minutes of "normal" driving. Very kick ass
well since veilside keeps bring things back from the dead (Post Whore) ill comment on the truck. they are pretty cool, my uncle has one. but i dont like trucks in general or any SUV for that matter, but the lightings i do like!
I had a 91 Nissan 4x4. Traded it in at 106,000 miles with THE ORIGINAL BRAKE PADS. In 6 years only had to change a serpentine belt, and an ABS sensor at 96,000 that Nissan covered. Great truck. Traded it in on a 97 Dakota. It was junk in the shop more than I can tell you. POS. Traded it in on a 2000 Silverado(before they looked like ugly Avalanches). Tranny went out at 62,000 miles, never been off road or never towed with it. POS. Traded it in on my Celi. LOVE IT. I've learned my lesson...imports only except for a Vette or a Viper. They're worth the anticipated hassle. My .02
