Kind of sucks 'cuz no more Celi's, but this just means that ours are the last gen Can you say collector's item I dunno, I want to see some pics of the xC. It looks interesting since it'll have a bigger engine and awd.
The article doesn't say that toyota isn't going to make celicas anymore. It's just that they aren't going to import them into north america. The celica will still be made in japan.
maybe its true, maybe it isnt. i'm sure motor trend didnt just dig it up from thin air though (personally i don't like the magazine).
the thing i don't get...they say "fickle coupe sales" but did they say anything about "fickle scion sales?" didnt think so. the brand so far is only sold in cali so i think thats a VERY big gamble to label the "new celica" under scion xc.
i mean, maybe it is true and scion will do it and maybe it'll even do well...but thats a pretty big risk and imo a bad idea for toyota. scion has no brand loyalty whatsoever yet.

Thats good espicially me, since 'm the guy who talks about importing JDM Celis all the time
Still sucks though sorry, but f@#%&! idiots at toyota make me so made if this is true
I hope that isn't the xc, that looks ugly compared to the Celica. That sucks, but until I hear official word from Toyota, then I'm not going to give up all hope on my favorite car company. Hopefully this is all a rumor.

why doesnt someone email toyota asking if the article is true or not. im sure theyll respond just like they did to the other guys message on the other post
I really hope this ain't true. I've been a big fan of Toyota for years and someday hope to design cars for them. First they get rid of the Supra and now the Celica?!?!?!?! I don't think they would make that decision because everyone knows the companys are in it for the money. Just don't seem like proper business ethics to get rid of a car that is rapidally becoming popular...
Just My opinion...
To deny the simple pleasures in life is to desire death in the most horrifing way.
If that article is true, then its just sad. The Celica is a sports car those posted above are NOT. Im still convinced that the 8 gen Celica will be presented soon and will be available in the US...or?

lets keep our fingers crossed...toyota is looking more and more like the nissan of the past (poor design, poor performance, poor management) lets hope they have a renaissance like they did and put some real innovative products on the market. something that actually will turn heads by how well it looks rather than how weird & outrageous it looks.
This would be a good car, if they make the 3sgte an available option, it's an option on the caldina...
I'll believe this BS when I see it happen for real, worst case scenario; the celica is killed off in the US market, and the resale value of our cars skyrockets
That sucks, but truth be told, my next car if it's not a celica would probably be a 4 door. And NO toyota 4-doors do it for me. I do like the look of the nissan 4 door cars. But that's not for a good long while.
the first time i had seen a 7th gen celica...i didnt know what in the world it was. just knew that i had to have one someday. my bro had to tell me "that's a celica" so i think that says a lot about toyota's advertising.
