Hey guys, I've been looking at speakers lately and just can't make up my mind. They all look pretty decent to me, and I've pretty much narrowed it down to Pioneer, Alpine, and Focal. There are some other's out there but I'm not as interested in them as much as these ones. So here's my question:

1) Which one would give off good bass? I don't want to put subwoofers in my car yet because I don't know what I'll do when it comes to snowboard season.
2) With good bass, comes good sound quality in general, which one?
3) What's the difference in component speakers? I don't understand component speakers, what are they?

That's all...thanks guys!

component speakers have crossovers that send the high's to tweeters and the lowes to your 6.5's...if you want good bass w/o subs and great sound invest in a good component system.

Would I have to do anything to my interior to fit the component speakers or no?

no..swap out the stock tweeters and 6.5's in the front and get some other 6.5's for the back...but a good component set will cost you about $$500

Yea another problem is the back. Since the 6.5 and the tweeters already in the front, could I buy 6.5 seperately to put in the back?

yeah...you can just buy a good set of 6.5's for the back and it'll sound good...plus it'll put off pretty good bass.

JL XR components are tough to beat. Infiniti is really good too. Probably the top two brands for speakers.

they also most always come w/removable tweeters that you can place wherever you think sounds best.

out of the speakers you listed..i'd go w/alpine. pioneer is also good.

personally...i'm a fan of audiobahn. for a company that hasnt been around as long as most...they kick most other speaker's asses.

Well I already have a kick ass head unit, Pioneer DEH-P8500MP, it sounds great, but the speakers still need some upgrading. I was thinking about Pioneer...maybe I'll go with them...we'll see

Pioneer's Rev's aren't to bad but I think you mentioned Infinity earlier and they are definitly a better choice.

I didn't mention Infinity, someone else did. I've had bad experience with Infinity on my old ride...they couldn't handle the bass I wanted them to and I blew them so.
