depends on the car.
in my '01 ranger if you look unde the doorhandle you will see two holes. choose the hole farthest away from the bumper, stick some slender, very sturdy, and about 8 inches long in there...push against the lock and walaa...instant access.
it honestly takes less than 2 secs to get my ex-trucks door open. another reason to sell.

As soon as i heard my alarm go off, i ran outside in like 20 seconds. I didnt see anyone out in the street. You figure that they would have a car to help them out, but i didnt see anyone down the road. Besides, its really hard to break into a celi and jack 3 12' subs screwed to a huge box. Im thinkin that maybe it was the wind that made my celi scream. The little stock alarms do that right? my friend drove by my car with his ram air and it made the alarm go off. It also freaked out on me earlier today, just went off for no reason...

Im thinkin that maybe it was the wind that made my celi scream. The little stock alarms do that right? my friend drove by my car with his ram air and it made the alarm go off. It also freaked out on me earlier today, just went off for no reason... I read the alarm manual a while ago, and wind will not set it off. I believe the only way it can be set off is by forced entry, or from tapping on the glass, or glass breakage (duh). It says that in order to test the glass sensors, you can arm it, and tap on the glass with your car key, but mine has yet to work doing this. If you ask me, the factory alarm is crap, as all factory alarms should be. If your alarm is going off for no reason, then I'd have it checked out, cause it's not a sensitive alarm at all. Might be power surges from something you hooked up in your car. Happened to a friend of mine who hooked up some of his sound system wrong. Hell, I don't know.

shit, i dunno if the wind shook the car or not, but like you said, stock alarms are crap. There was a huge storm though. Oh well, im just going to sell my system, and get performance mods. Im just not sure if i can return the system. I just got it 3 weeks ago from this place called frequency. I have the recipts. I though you could return anything the the good o'l U.S of A.

Might as well find out their return policy, or take a hit and sell it used.

YOu can adjust the settings on your alarm.
Mine is set to the most sensitive. If I even so much as close the door in the car next to mine loudly, it goes off.

the stock alarm isnt that bad... i just hate the fact that instead of having a nice "beep" when you lock/unlock, its just the damn horn
my alarm goes off every few days in the middle of the night because of my neighbors cats...i should call animal control...

my alarm goes off every few days in the middle of the night because of my neighbors cats...i should call animal control... Mine has the nice beep. Only time my horn sounds is when the alarm goes off. As for switching the sensitivity up, the only thing I wouldn't like is when there is a loud noise, the alarm goes off. I would rather it make a few warning beeps or something, instead of it just wailing. One more thing. This has happened a few times to me, and I don't know if it's just me, but sometimes when I go to lock/unlock my car, I will hear one or two beeps, and then the next beeps that follow will be of a higher pitch and a completely different tone. For example, if I hit my unlock button twice to open the trunk or passenger side door, I'll hear beep, beeeep, beep, beeeep. Or beep, beep, beeeeep, beeeeep. Sorry, I don't know how else to type out what it sounds like, so lay off.
