TRD would give you good gains. but IMO i would get the Tanabe Super Racing Medallion. its like 0.2 HP less gain, but has a nicer tone and is louder.

isn't kazuma only illeagle in CA if you have a silencer you mean without one, right? trd will give you a ballpark figure of 5 horses, but its also less weight than most exhausts and the tip isnt overly large.

the new ultra medallion exhaust promises very good gains (untested in the above turbo magazine link). but i havnt seen a 3rd party dyno of it yet...so i won't recommend it as of now, but you might want to look into it. if someone can scrape up a 3rd party dyno (not the manufacturers dyno) from a quality source, please post

the piping that is supplied withthe kazuma goes up to the cat and does not replace it. i'm just going by this West Covina Toyota [ wctoyotasport.com] and by what i have been told on here, so if i am wrong and it is carb leagle, my point still stands can't you make it legal (even in CA) with a silencer

[/quote]the key word here is "some" hp! a good silencer with a big bore would bring the db level down but not restrict flow that much to seriously effect hp gains.i'm betting a kazuma with a good silencer can still outperform the regular trd(no resonator and center muffler pan account for a lot of restrictions)ps:the cat stays in on the kazuma, its illigal because of the db level,i think 95 db is the limit(not to sure though)

it was my understanding that the kazuma was illegal for both emissions and for sound (as most racing exhausts are).
making it legal for sound will decrease its power gains (as already noted) and making it legal for emissions will even further decrease its power gains.
and it will not give you 20 extra horses...that is a factory rating with the ecu retuned. i havnt seen a dyno for it yet but most aftermarket exhausts run in the range of 5-8 horses gained...using this figure, making it street legal would be impractical. use kazuma for racing, then have another exhaust for daily driving (fairly simple to switch on and off..and several people do this)
