My steering wheel shakes when I drive past 70 mph. What are the things that do that? Bad wheel alignment? unbalanced tires? too much coffee?

Mine does the same exact thing!! When i drive past 60-65mph the wheel starts to shake like crazy. I found out that it's my rimz and stuff...because I have had 2 alignments and still shakes...i'm thinking about getting new rimz all together!

i had the exactly same problem.

i got a 4-wheel alignment...and my tires re-balanced

the problem got better

but it still shakes a LITTLE bit from 75mph to 80mph

i think it is because of my low-profile tires

you most likely need to balance your wheels (if you have aftermarket rims)

other than that the only other thing i could think of that is common is an alignment.

Yeah, it was the tire balance, they had to re-do all four. That's what I get from getting it from an internet site. When I first got the rims. They mounted 3 on for the driver's side and 1 for the passenger. Morons.

It could be a front end problem. In my toyota cressida sometimes the steering would shake violently. That turned out to be the break rudders clamping down on the wheels.

yeah, rofl but not all internet sites are second-rate. good to hear you got the problem taken care of, though.
