Celica Forums General Discussion General What are they?

The bodyshop is getting a wrecked celica to re-build & sell. I was told that it has aftermarket racing seats. I can pull them out in exchange for my stock seats. He's not familiar & can't name them. He said that they are black with red inserts/ trim. What could they be?
It could be next week before the yard ships it. Should I jump on the freebie even if they are not sparco or some "name" brand? He said they were in very almost new.

Also may get a new aftermarket or custom exhaust out of the shop in exchange for my stock one if the stock one costs too much new. Hmmm.

Well, there's lots of different kinds of seats that are black and red. I would just give up my stock ones and try it.

Our stock seats are already made by Recaro... but here are a few companies that also make seats (these are the brand name companies that make racing seats... although there are atleast 50 other companies that also make aftermarket seats)

Yeah, I thought the only seats Recaro made for stock cars was the Evo.

^^ didn't know either. although the racing style seat is obvious, i just thought it was a toyota version.

so we got macpherson struts, yamaha engine, recaro seat (and whatever else we might have that isnt stock toyota)...i like how toyota is looking beyond its own means

we also have Momo stering wheels, K&N air filters, KYB shocks... and many other things

Recaro also makes seats for busses and NASA space shuttles

sweet as i said earlier i like that toyota went for what they thought was the best performance for price and didn't settle for something that may have seemed inferior for the cost.

There's actually more than I thought.

DC5's have them too with Momo steering wheels.

Holy Sh*t no wonder the car is sooooo much, i thought it was the HID's or maybe even the 6 speed but damn thats kool as hell...good info Isaac, you have to tell us these things more often, we'r like kids waiting for story time
