just like the topic says were is the best place to mount the foot well neons i have two one for the drive and one for the passanger pics would be nice thanks
yeah just ziptie, i did that with mine, just finished it. i hard wired mine to the battery just like in the install section. came out awesome, real clean. mounted a switch on the passenger side that has a little LED on the top that lights up when you turn the neon on. looks great. i would highly recommend doing it like this.
zip ties are def. the way to go. I just re-placed my cheap non bulbs with nice ones today and remounted em in the footwell, I didn't have zipties so I just cut some extra wire and used that to fasten it up in there, doesn't move at all. javascript:void(0) Plus footwells I think add more class than just in the car neons...if I could only find a location for the three LED's now...
Do you connect Neons to sig.lighter? How many connections can you make to the SL? I Connected Led Tube to SigLighter (To change AC console light (Blue)).And I like to know if i can connect neons also???
No I connected my neons to a lighted switch that I wired directly to the battery. It was kind of a pain to get the small wire through the firewall...in the rain...luckily I had it all there for the upgrade from the last lights...I like it better that way though because now I have a stable 12V supply direct from the battery, I like to keep it all independent. I used an inline fuse under the hood and then sent the power to the switch, grounded the switch (since it's lighted) to the frame, and attached the neons.
can someone explain this more.. for example instead of hooking it up to the cig lighter place, i wanna wire it to someplace that the wires wont stand out. where can i hook it up so i can make it work exactly the way its hooked up to the cig lighter hole. hook it up to the cig lighter wires? and change the fuse for the ciglighter?
I think it's better to have a switch...Just in case...Cops for exmpl...
i was talkin about neons inside the car. thats illegal? if so who cares, if a cop pulls me over ill just take the keys off the car. anyone knows how to do it?
the way i wired my footwells was really easy. sinse i already had the wire i used from my gauges. if you look in the installs section it'll tell you to wire the gauges up to the power wire for your headlights...that way the gauges come on when the headlamps do. i just cut into the wire i used for the gauges and connected the wire for the footwells. i also put a switch in one of the empty switch bays to the left of the steering wheel. that way i can turn them on and off whenever i want.
I ran a 12v power line with 16GA wire and a 20amp inline fuse from the battery to the drivers side. I hooked up a switch in the empty switch bay. Grounded it to the car body under the "celica" door sill. Then just attached the wires to the switch at ground and load. Works nice.
