If your talking about the center part of the dash this is how it goes:
pull up on your shifter bezel it will just pop out (manual shift will need to take off shit knob first, just unscrew), be careful of the lighter wires you will need to unclip the harness.
pull out the AC knobs, just pull forward on them and they will slide right off.
next take out the four, now exposed, screws. Two behind the AC panel, two below.
Then pull up on the center dash starting slowly from the bottom where you took out the screws, it just pops out. Be careful of the clock wires, you will need to unclip the harness.

I wouldn't paint the dash...but rather the center console. Painting the dash is just...too much. But if you want to that's cool and all.

I heard that if you paint your dash it could crack because of the sun. But I'm not a specialiste.

that true, I would use engine paint to deal with that problem. The paint I have will stand temps up to 500 degrees.
