im looking to buy a cat-back system very soon. i've heard good things about the tanabe super racing medallion, though the apexi also sounds very good to me. what do you guys recommend as the best sounding exhaust, and what do you think of the apexi?
get the tanabe super racing medallion. this exhaust and the TRD are the best out there I think. the tanabe has a beautiful sound that does not sound ricy or is too low or in the middle with that droning kinda noise. It is just awesome. The veilside is freaking sick too, it weighs only 8 pounds! so its up to you, as for the apexi, i haven't seen it anywhere or know anything about its boost in performance.
hmm what do you mean by best? In my opinion, they're all the best. hahaha The best performing exhausts are the TRD, KAZUMA, TANABE SUPER RACING MEDALLION AND SKUNK2(my exhaust that im getting REALLY soon straight from skunk).
My fault you referenced vaguely? NO. You think I did NOT know what you meant by BEST? Give me a break dude, I pile myself in this celica stuff ALL day long.

can you say ANGER MANAGEMENT????????? jk dude, chill out. if you never referred to what i said this wouldn't happen. but you have to go and say what did you mean by best? thats why opinion, respect it. you don't have to go and diss it by saying oh thats not the best or they are all the best. chill steven, and dont get p.o.ed peace out man
i'm going to have to go steven, I have the TRD ext. exhaust and it performs great. it's not loud when idling but at about 3500-4000 rpm it gets pretty loud. And you can feel the gains really well. Steven you have a stock exhaust?
Same performance as TRD...only MUCH sweeter sounding. Have had mine for a week now and love it more and more everyday. By the way...I had a TRD ext. exhaust...and I got rid of it for the Tanabe.

I already decided to go with the Tanabe Super Racing Medallion, I have heard nothing but the best about it, it is pretty much tied with the TRD as far as horsepower and torque are concerned, but it definitely sounds a lot better. I can't wait to get mine, within the next month or so. Later...

Hi, Team Dynamix am thinking of getting a veilside exhaust and was wondering if you could tell me what the sound was like and does it come with an inner silencer.
met up with a club member the other day. he revved with his tsrm. jeebus that thing has a nice, crisp sound. decided i am going to go for the tsrm, not custom. the sound was beautifully crisp and clear!
I would love to have the TRD. Even if its hard to get over here. Hell, almost any aftermarketparts are hard to get here . But we do have the 143 hp GT 6sp, auto digital AC. 16" rims, heated front seats, adjustable low beams, four airbags. And it comes all stock. But even Toyota over here cant get TRD products.
That is the reason why almost all Celicas are stock here.
Here is one that is not. But he got the whole car sponsored.
I'm telling you straight up, the Tanabe Super Racing Medallion has the same hp gains as the TRD, these two exhausts are the best out there. As far as sound is concerned, the TSRM sounds a hundred times better than the TRD. Trust me, if you want a deep and mean sounding exhaust along with a great power gain, get the TSRM. TRD is good, don't get me wrong, but to be honest, it sounds kinda crappy when compared to the TSRM's roar. It's totally up to you which one you decide, but if you want the best hp gains, go with one of these two exhausts.

you have to ask yourself what you want it for, sound, straight line speed, or a race course set up. as you see everyone has there own opion on the subject, but you need to know what you are goingto set the car up for. I would say from the responce that most here are straight line speed, where as the only exhaust not talked about is the RMM and the 5Zigen. I hear that these two are good for auto-xing and road courses because they have midrange power and torque. I pesonally will be getting the 5Zigen.

... Sry it took so long for me to write back been busy, Veilside is a great exhaust.. it sounds deep and doesnt sound that ricey its loud... doesnt pass smog... if you have the bills its def a must... i would get it again... only downside is it isnt a full cat-back its jsut an axle back which is the muffler and a tiny bit more ill try to get you a pic and if i can find a tape recorder i will record it... turbomag's sounds arent how the exhaust really sound..
