next time you goto the dealership for an oil change, have a can of coke with u. No, dont give it to the guy, if they tell you "we cant do it, its too low". take the can and roll it below the car, if it rolls, then tell em to shut the fuck up and change it. if not, then run out of the dealer happywink

Wait, so Toyota practically gave you a brand new car or did you trade it in? Was yer 2K Celica still under warranty when sh!t hit the fan? Cuz my chugs up oil like crazy too, but then again it being used I dunno what to say.

i had bought the car with the wonderful gay ass 160 point shit ass inspection, an then i bought the gold waranty, so i kept bringing it back in, no one would help so finally i ended up getting a new one, but not for free, they gave me exact value of my old car an refunded my warranty as a down paymant on the car. worked out ok, not much of a paymant difference

Oh ok. Just a lil confused. Maybe I should do that. Trade-in my Celica for a 2K3/2K4 Celica with a TRD kit and have the same payment plan. Not sure if I can do it since I just bought the car in Oct used.

Looks like the best option is to get an 02 and do an ecu swap...get the best of both worlds that way rofl

i would assume the '02 is rev limited where it is for a reason...the tranny probably can't handle the abuse of 8k rpms. thumbsup

if you are talkinga about model years, you mean '00, right? my car was made in '99 but its an '00.

the tranny sucks becasue the shifting is bad (tight shift gates), but the tranny itself is pretty good.

it was lowered in a feable attempt to lessen misshift damage. it is the same tranny as teh 01

the 99-early01 tranny sucks.

The shifter is notchy, gets stiff, breaks, and is altogether poor.

The new one, while "wider" is actually easier to drive fast. I find myself driving faster with the wider gates than before.

The old gates suck, and they are not "race" like, they are just crap.;
