Ok guys i need some help. I really want to get the xs engineering turbo kit for my car but i really cant afford it if i have to buy pistons, rods, valve springs and retainers, fuel pressure regulater, etc. I have enough for the kit and a clutch/flywheel combo. I was wondering if i could leave the boost turned down low and if that is safe enough with stock internals and if so where should i keep the boost level at????

The XS kit was preprogramed/tuned for a GTS(2zz-ge) motor that has not had internals done. In other words, the XS kit is a bolt on turbo kit. You can go ahead and buy it and install it along with your clutch and flywheel and you won't have any problems with it because the apexi power fc that comes with it sets the boost to 7 psi and no more if i'm correct.

you'll be pretty fine stock...turbo magazine tested it and to quote: "The Celica's 2ZZ powerplant was left internally stock and the head was untouched. A tubular manifold was fashioned to position the turbo.." you can view the rest of the article by clicking on the link below . note: because turbo magazine doesnt keep their articles past a certain point on their website, i have to give you a link to another site which posted it. the link below will be dead..click it anyway. when the url shows up in your browser, delete the "T" between "new" and "celica" and then try again. nTc.org: turbo magazine: xs engineering turbo, celica [ newtcelica.org]

Good info, thanks a lot guys. Oh and one more thing, it looks like the hose for the intercooler is right where the fog lamps are so would i have to remove those also? It looks to be that way.
