Hey I was wondering if it's worth it to take it to a car wash place and have them high speed buff it for 70 dollars? There's also an OB wax with machine for 40, and a hand wax for 35. But the OB wax I can do at home, cause I have a mini buffer. But since I just got my car, its used so it isn't as shiny, I want to high speed buff it to get it bling blinging!
Is it worth the 70? Or should I just go and get a high speed buffer myself?

You can f*ck your paint up if you do not know what you are doing with a high speed buff.

personally i think hand jobs (no pun intended--pervs) look better if you know what you are doing. orbital buffers & waxers are basically for ease of use and don't necessarily translate into a better job.

Don't mess around with a high speed buffer unless you're experienced in doing so or unless you take it to a place were they know what they are doing. Just remember that all that machine buffing, wet sanding, or whatever and any combination they do will strip a little paint. Your car will look like a mirror though maybe even better than when you bought it.

I thank Stephen for a Zymol recommendation in a previous post on waxing...stuff is AWESOME..do it yourself...only takes about 2 hours to wash and wax by hand...add 2-3 hours to detail the rubber moldings, interior, and engine bay. Think of it as quality time with your Celica

Is it worth the 70? Or should I just go and get a high speed buffer myself? Forget the shop, buy some Meguiar's cleaner wax and Meguiar's Gold(comes in a black box) after that, your car will be your biggest bling bling. I have a white celi, after using the Meguiar's gold, I can see myself in white paint.
