what do you mean upgrade to a gts? you can trade your car in and buy a gts. any other way is unrealistic to do it (you'd need an engine swap, tranny swap, etc...lots of other, smaller things).

if you just bought a used gt, then resale shouldn't hurt you very much (you should get almost what you paid for it--minus tt&l). if you want a gts. i suggest selling your car while you still have so few miles on it.

also, do not get an '02 gts. they have rev-limiters. you can get them fixed though..so if you get a good deal then i'd go for it. but otherise just buy any other model gts instead of the '02s. thumbsup

yeah i would sell the gt and get a older model 6 spd gts. I would have taken that route too but my dad got me the car and im pretty sure he doesn't want me to sell it. But if you can just sell the gt. you'll probablly have more fun with a gts.

so i can just go to the dealership and ask for a trade, i'm guessin' my dad would have to be with me considering he cosigned... so would my payments be higher if i got an 03 gts and i say 03 considering that the 02's have limiters, but what about the 04s do they?

yes. well if you go to a dealership you will most likely lose at least 1k (and more likely 2-3k) on the trade-in.

and then of course you will have to fork up more money to buy a gts (especially a newer one). i would suggest you sell it privately for about what you paid for it. that way, you will only have to pay the extra money for the gts, instead of being in the hole a couple more grand.

and no, the '04s do not have rev limiters. every 7th gen celica except for the '02 models is good to go w/out rev limiters thumbsup

so the dealership would payoff the gt and use towards the gts but i would have to pitch in a couple $$...right?

no. if you go to a dealership for a trad-in..they won't give you what you paid for it. they will most likely give you 2 or 3 thousand less than what you bought it for...so you'd have to pay 2 or 3 grand just to get even. THEN you'd have to pay a few more grand to get a gts.

the dealership will finance you though, if thats what you meant. (assuming your/your parents credit is good enough)

depends on your credit. if the credit is adequate..then no. if you don't have the credit required, you will need to provide a set down payment.

don't worry about asking questions..ask as many as you want.

and as long as your dad has the credit required for the loan you will have to take out, then no down payment should be needed thumbsup

he'll probably have to have a credit rating of at least 650 points and upward.

also, after tha payment schedule has been worked out...it will have to be shown that his total car payments (his, yours, moms, whoever else car he might own/cosign on) will be no more than 15% of his income.

hey I know how you feel about having a gt, because I have the gt too. Many people saying gts is the best, but they forgot there is also an disavantage on the gts. gt are more friendly with it come to turbo and high performance. the prices of a gts is around 24k-26, but the gt you can get it for maybe 19k or 20k, so there is around 4k-6k different in prices, why not use that different and get a turbo for gt around 3500 and put a gt to 240hp. right now i'm going all motor for my gt and still kick ass until now. if you want more information on the gt just simply e-mail me or pm and talk about it. I be more than happy to help you out. but if you want to upgrade to a gts, I also have the information too. hope that help.

Trade your GT in for a GTS at a dealer if they have any.
