Test drive the car and use KBB (Kelly Blue Book). Mine's a 2000 GTS 6-speed with 72,500 miles. Let me know what it's going for on KBB.

have them replace the lift bolts and make sure the tranny is okay...can't think of other GTS issues...should be ok...see if you can get it down to the 9s...

for a 2000 Celica GTS 77K miles.. it says $9,815. that's pretty cheap. what do yu think it'd be next year around this time? i just dont want to wait till next year and then find that all of them have a more miles and then i'll be mad. also what is the 8th gen celica? i've been hearing stuff theres like a 1000 posts before probally but i knwo someone said the price of a 2000 celica is gunna drop a lot bc of that. is it deffintily comming out? wahts it look like? well do you think it'd be better to get one now or wait around till next year after taking into the acount of the price and the amoutn of miles there is going to be on them next year? waht would you guys do? people say they get a lto of chips in their paint . how bad are they? and they say black is REALLY hard to keep clean and no one would ever buy a blakc car after this. do you think i should get a spectra blue or a black one?

My car is $10,790 if I see pivate party. + $8,000 in mods (some factored in, some not). I'd sell mine for $16,000 once I get the VS2 kit on.
Yeah, the tranny checked out. My gears are starting to stick and I have no clue what it means, 'cept it needs work. My lift has been fine, but everyone on here with a GTS says to change the lift bolts. You better do that then.

Nah. Just keep it clean. My first celica (94) was black. If I could do this over again, I'd get a black one. Look at SR71's Celica. His is frickin' tight as hell.

http://f1.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/scott_d...cott_d_phillips [ f1.pg.photos.yahoo.com] my celica is black and i love it. I think black looks like a different car, i also think black stock looks better than other colors stock. Some body kits don't look good on black cause they don't show the lines etc. But keepin it clean is a chore, but if ya love your car its no problem. Definitely get tranny checked out, take it for a test drive, upshifts into all the gears, downshifts into all the gears also, you should be looking for grinds where syncros would be bad, if ya do it while its cold it will show syncros that would go bad after a while, once it heats up take it up to redline and make sure lift is working, fall out of it and go back in see if it still works. My advice.

I looked all over for months and this was the best price i found yeah i here yah, finding them in the midwest isn't easy. i felt i got a pretty good deal on mine...paid 13.3k for a auto GTS with 22k miles, in reference to your other question, black is a bitch to keep clean, i have to drive a 1/2 mile of country road to get to the highway, and i have to wash my car atleast 3 times a week to keep it decent looking, but again, i think black looks the best for celicas
