Hey how hard is it to install a cold air intake if I never worked on the engine before. Could I do myself or should I have it done professionally. Did anybody here ever installed there intake for the first time? If yes, how hard is it?

If you want something done right, you gotta do it yourself.

i dont have the CAI but have the Short Ram, i did it my self and it was very easy, for CAI you have to take the front end off, its easier, better to do it yourself coz it aint that hard and you save money too thumbsup

if you dont know how to or dont trust yourself putting it on, better to get it installed by a professional grin

i reallt think it's not that hard..and AEM provided step by step instructions..but if you have never really worked on cars before, might as well take it to a shop or someone with experience..better be safe than sorry thumbsup

1st time did it, took me almost 4+ hours since i didn't have all the right tools. But it's fairly easy. I followed the instruction given by Injen and pictures in EC help section. Remember the 1st rule of thumb. REMOVE THE NEGATIVE BATTERY CONNECTOR. and remember where everything goes. other than that, it's pretty self-explanatory. if you need anything, PM me or post on here.
Good Luck! thumbsup

maybe you can. you dont need any special tools, but more than 3hrs might be needed for the first time.

I just had a friend of mine install my Injen CAI. He didn't have to remove the front end, but he did have to make some special cuts for everything to fit. I think it took him about 2-3 hours and he works on cars quite a bit.

I installed my injen shortram in about 3 hours, but only because I took my time and i just took it step by step to make sure everything was right. I don't work on engines and I was able to do it right. Use the install section on this site and the directions that come with the intake.
