well i have the aem pulley installed after i found out about the whole belt tensioner problem. do you thinhk i should take it to the dealer with the tsb and have them try to repair it knowingly they'll blame the rattling and or squeeking on the pulley and aftermarket belt...OR...should i come up with some other alternative? i don't really want to put my stock pulley back in then have to put it back again once the tensioner has been fixed. is it bad to leave it the way it is?...thank guys for the advice!

if you must bring to to the dealer i would suggest that you take it out to be safe, but Cabe toyota in long beach sells the AEM pulley, so i really don't know. you should call and ask if you can bring it in for the TSB under warrenty even though you have the aftermarket part. just be honest with the service rep. if he says it may void the warrenty then don't bring it in, until it's replaced, but if he does make sure you see and deal with that same person when you bring the car in. Isn't there a DIY solution to this? i think it was steven who said that you can dress the belt and i would stop the sqealing.

I would not recommend leaving it alone cause when I have mine replaced and saw what was wrong with the original, It looked like it could have screwed up the belt if left alone, and the mechanic said if left alone I could screw up alignment of other pulleys. And I wouldnt use the belt dressing cause that makes things worse

you guys have been on the board for this long and w/ so many posts and you don't even know about the belt tensioner problems w/ celicas???

well anyway , what i would do is to put the stock pulley back on. it's not too difficult if you have the right tools.
