what are you asking? you mean like have the hatch automatically open when you use a remote or have the hatch go strait up vertically? i seen hondas with the trunk vertical conversions like that, but imo it would look funny on a celica.

some dude told me that they saw this on a celica so it may not exist
what he sad it does is the whole door would come out and then begane to slide towards the roofand almost sit on top of the car
i thought that would look pretty cool with these lambo diablo doors

Well, theoretically it's possible. All you need to do is program a selenoid to trigger the unlocking mechanism. Anything is possible. You would also need to replace the struts that hold up the trunk, to make them stronger.

You could just use a remote linear actuator. It would open the same but at least it would be on a remote.
