my guess is probably not. since you would need a longer space for the engine and wider for the radiator. just easier and cheaper to buy a supra for $50,000

that celica is a total sleeper man. and naw the 4th gens and up are a nogo for the motor swap but the 3rd gen i believe will probably be duable as you can see from the pic above.

well... if you had shit-ton of cash, and the desire to do a monster garage-like frankenstien project, i suppose you COULD (i say this very librally) drop a 2jz into a 7th gen celica in a mid-engine position. You would have to redesign most of the chassis and frame, not to mention moving the gas tank, replacing the suspension, removing the backseats, and a whole LOT of stiffening. Oh yeah, not to mention fabricating a new firewall. But when you're done... you would have the japanese equivolent of a ferrari! Come to think of it, i want to see that. If they can put a jet engine in a celi, why not a midengine 2jz? Anyone wanna sponsor it?

![[Linked Image from upload.houston-imports.com]](http://upload.houston-imports.com/uploaded/zztwo.jpg) 550hp mid engine AWD rb26deTT and it only weights 1500lbs. hmmm , instead of trying a 2jz-gte project in a 7th gen i'd try a twin engine 4 wheel drive mr2 or mr-s .
