You can tell it was derived from the CS&S totally. That car could also be a prelude to the new super car Toyota has wanted to release to butt heads with the NSX. If the article is true, then its good to see Toyota is getting their heads out of their ass when it comes to sports car development.
The half electric half gas thing sounds bad, but the potential is there. If the I4 gas engine could produce what the Celica GTS produces and throw that at the rear wheels, and let the electric motor push another hundred or so at the front, then a car that small with 280+ hp with a wheel drive will easily be faster than an MKIV, or at least faster than an Sti. I know it looks ugly, but so does every concept car. If it goes into production it will no doubt look better. I personally would not mind a 13 second car that gets 40+ miles to the gallon.
